Abstract

This study aims to present and analyze the latest findings in the literature regarding the application of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) type cooperative learning model to improve the learning outcomes of Social Sciences (IPS) of elementary school students. The method used in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which allows systematic identification, review, and synthesis of various relevant studies. The results of SLR show that the application of the NHT cooperative learning model consistently contributes to improving social studies learning outcomes of elementary school students. Literature findings highlight the effectiveness of this model in improving students' understanding of concepts, critical thinking skills, and learning motivation. The study also identified key factors influencing the success of NHT implementation, including the formation of balanced groups, the role of teachers as facilitators, and the use of relevant and challenging questions. In the context of literature, the NHT cooperative learning model has been shown to have a positive impact on social interaction between students, creating a more collaborative learning environment. The implication of these findings is the importance of considering the application of the NHT model in the development of social studies learning strategies at the elementary level. The practical implications of these findings could provide valuable guidance for teachers, researchers, and policymakers in designing and implementing effective instructional approaches in elementary grades.
