Abstract

Shares are an instrument in the capital market that is susceptible to being influenced by rumors or events. This research examines the share prices of companies affiliated with Israel before and after the boycott action as a result of the genocide aggression in Palestine. The population of this study is the stock exchange in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. This research sample used a non-probability sampling technique with a judgment sampling type, so that 2 companies were obtained on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the Malaysia Stock Exchange with a data period of 30 days before the boycott action and 30 days after the boycott action. Data processing used SPSS software version 25.0 for Windows with descriptive statistical analysis, normality test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and paired t – test. The results of this research show that there is a significant difference in closing stock prices before and after the Boycott action at Berjaya Food (Starbucks) Malaysia and PT. MAP Boga Adiperkasa, Tbk (Starbucks) Indonesia.
