Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in Tanakaraeng Village, Manuju District, with the aim of empowering housewives through training in chicken nugget production as a local value-added food product. The initiative was driven by the abundant availability of chicken as a raw material, which had not been optimally utilized by the local community, particularly women. The program included awareness sessions on the objectives and benefits of the activity, technical training on chicken nugget production, basic business management, and product marketing strategies. The results showed an improvement in participants’ skills in processing chicken into hygienic, ready-to-eat food with market potential, while also fostering entrepreneurial spirit. The activity contributed to strengthening household economic resilience and opened up new business opportunities based on local potential. This training is expected to serve as an initial step toward economic independence for women through the development of innovative and competitive local food products.
