Main Article Content
Abstract
This community service initiative was undertaken to introduce and promote the concept and practical implementation of the Blue Economy to coastal communities in Tanjung Bira, Bulukumba Regency. The Blue Economy, understood as the sustainable utilization of marine resources to foster economic growth, improve community welfare, and preserve marine ecosystems, served as the central theme of the program. The activities were implemented through a structured combination of lectures and interactive discussions over a three-day period, from 30 June to 2 July 2024. The results revealed high levels of participant engagement and a substantial improvement in their understanding of core Blue Economy principles, including sustainable fisheries management, environmental pollution reduction, and the development of marine-based tourism potential. This initiative is expected to serve as a preliminary step toward the sustainable economic transformation of coastal regions.
