Through a deep understanding of these factors, effective strategies can be developed to enhance the quality of education and student achievement. This research delves into the intricate dynamics between the learning environment, student self-reliance, discipline, and their collective influence on the academic achievement of elementary school students. Grounded in the quantitative research methodology, the study employs a structured approach to investigate these factors. The research asserts that a positive and supportive learning environment, higher levels of student independence, and greater student discipline are pivotal in enhancing student learning outcomes. The study population comprises all Bua, Luwu Regency primary school students, focusing on fifth and sixth-grade classes. Cluster random sampling was utilized to ensure a representative sample of students. Data collection was executed through a well-designed questionnaire featuring a Likert scale format. The rigorous data analysis involved multiple regression to elucidate the relationships between the independent variables (learning environment, student independence, student discipline) and the dependent variable (learning outcomes). Findings from the study are anticipated to shed light on effective strategies to bolster educational practices and student achievements. Educators and policymakers can leverage these insights to design interventions that optimize the learning environment, foster student independence, and promote discipline, ultimately enhancing the quality of education and academic performance among elementary school students.</p> 2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://ojs.unpatompo.ac.id/index.php/jssi/article/view/372 The Role of Emotional Intelligence in Increasing the Learning Independence of Elementary School Students 2024-06-26T04:06:58+00:00 Nuramin Nuramin nuramin@email.com Muh. The study utilized a descriptive correlational research design with a quantitative approach. The total population of the study consisted of 182 students, from which a sample of 34 fourth-grade students was selected using purposive sampling. Data collection methods included the distribution of questionnaires and documentation techniques. The analysis was conducted using descriptive techniques, presenting percentages, and inferential analyses involving prerequisite tests such as normality and linearity. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the Pearson correlation test. The findings indicated that the emotional intelligence level of fourth-grade students at primary school was rated reasonably good, with a descriptive percentage of 64.71%. The self-directed learning levels were also considered reasonably good, with a descriptive percentage of 44.12%. Furthermore, the study revealed a significant association between emotional intelligence and self-directed learning among fourth-grade students at primary school. This was supported by a probability value of 0.034, lower than the significance level of 0.05, and a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.578, exceeding the tabulated value of 0.287. The findings of this study have several important implications for educators, parents, and policymakers. Enhancing emotional intelligence in students may lead to improved self-directed learning abilities, which are crucial for lifelong learning and academic success. Schools should consider incorporating emotional intelligence training into their curricula to foster better learning outcomes.</p> 2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 https://ojs.unpatompo.ac.id/index.php/jssi/article/view/374 Transformation of Economics Learning in High Schools with Problem Based Learning Modules 2024-07-26T02:11:50+00:00 Asisah Asisah asisah@mail.com Muh. Well-structured materials are crucial for supporting and enhancing student motivation to master subjects. Common teaching problems, curriculum, and student needs are analyzed in the Definition stage. The Design stage includes creating a structured economics module for management topics. The Development stage involves expert validation and trials in small and regular class settings. The Evaluation stage assesses the module's effectiveness. Validated by four experts, the module scored an overall average of 4.42, which was deemed valid. Experts rated presentation feasibility at 4.60, graphical feasibility at 4.22, and content and language feasibility at 4.50 and 4.36, respectively. Student field trial assessments showed scores of 4.41 for presentation, 4.61 for graphics, 4.50 for content, and 4.53 for language. The module significantly increased student motivation and reduced boredom, with high engagement in class activities. Observations showed active student participation, attendance, and cooperation. Implementing the module resulted in significant performance improvements, with 83.33% of students scoring between 85-100 and 86.11% achieving mastery, surpassing the 85% success criteria. The economics learning module effectively enhances student motivation and academic success through its comprehensive design and validation process, ensuring quality and suitability for educational purposes.</p> 2024-04-30T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024
