Abstract

 


This study was conducted to idnetify the effect of student perceptions and selfefficacy on interest in becoming a teacher in Economic Education students in the 2020-2021 batch of Patompo University Makassar. This research is an ex-post facto research which is causal in nature where this research shows that the treatment of the causal variable has occurred before, so there is no need to provide treatment, just see the effect on the effect variable. The research sample was 37 students. The data collection technique used questionnaire instruments of student perceptions, self-efficacy, and interest in becoming a teacher. The data were analyzed using two types of analysis, namely descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with multiple linear regression analysis techniques. The results showed that: (1) The effect of variable X1 (perception of the teaching profession) partially affects variable Y (interest in becoming a teacher) by students of the Economics Education Study Program Class of 2020 which has a tcount value of 2.331 with a significance value of 0.026, (2) The effect of variable X2 (self-efficacy) partially affects variable Y (interest in becoming a teacher) by students of the Economics Education Study Program Class of 2020 which has a tcount value of 8.391 with a significance value of 0.000, (3) The effect of variable X1 (perception of the teaching profession) and variable X2 (self-efficacy) simultaneously affects variable Y (interest in becoming a teacher) by students of the Education Study Program.
