Comparison of Biology Learning Outcomes between the Cooperative Learning Model of Teams Games Tournament Type and Group Investigation Type among Eighth Grade Students of SMP Nasional Makassar

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a difference in biology learning outcomes between the use of the cooperative learning model of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type and the Group Investigation (GI) type among eighth-grade students of SMP Nasional Makassar. This study was experimental in nature, employing a nonequivalent control group design. The population consisted of all eighth-grade students of SMP Nasional Makassar, with the sample comprising students from class VIII A and class VIII B. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the t-test showed that the calculated t-value (tₕᵢₜᵤₙg = 2.163) was greater than the t-table value (tₜₐᵦₗₑ = 2.000) at a 5% significance level. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in biology learning outcomes between students taught using the cooperative learning model of the Teams Games Tournament type and those taught using the Group Investigation type at SMP Nasional Makassar
